I wanted to try my hands at a cat model with the bas-relief technique which has been characteristic of many of my models recently. I had to sharpen the edges more than I had anticipated, its initial curviness was giving off a strangely feminine vibe that I wanted to avoid, for once (!)
Having had cats for most of my life, whenever I want to fold an animal which has grace, they’re a natural subject. When a cat looks at you and starts squinting at you, you might as well squint back.
