In the Flesh
2022-2026
Origami is honestly not the most obvious medium to render human form. The first is usually associated with pleats, sharp geometric lines and angles. The latter is all volumes, curves and smooth envelopes.
With these models I aim to resolve this contradiction by treating the sheet in the same way as the flesh treats healthy skin: it minimises the number of wrinkles. In a folded model this should translate to a minimum amount of layers, or -equivalently- to showing as much of the paper surface as possible while folding it.
