About Gachepapier

Loving graphical stories, I fold paper sculptures with a narrative for people who share my sense of humour, my sense of beauty, or both.

I’ve been folding original models since 2008 and have been fortunate enough that they have been noticed both online and in the real world rather quickly – I am the “hippie” on the left here:

This site presents a curated set of my origami models – those that I believe have the qualities of what I understand to be artful. It has taken me many years to begin producing such pieces with any sort of consistency, and if I’m honest, most of my older work does not pass that test. It has been a long -and exciting- learning process, so yes, some things DO get better with age.

I do not intend to post everything I create here – that would be about 400 models to date. Instead, I like to think of these pages as of my ideal exhibition. If you are interested in seeing more of my work, including the goofy stuff, some work in progress, please have a look at my Instagram account.

(Also, if you really want to dig into my very old stuff, I used to have a blog. It’s kind of broken, as the coding has not withstood the evolution of the web very well, but it’s still possible to navigate it through the “archives” icon on the right. I would advise against doing that with your phone though…)

I am only beginning to put things together here, so please consider this as one of those “site under construction” and make sure to check things out from time to time.
