In this series, I try to keep that tail and some architectural component present. As to the bas-relief technique, I guess I am a little more lenient here.
I wanted to give this new rat a head facing towards us and quickly figured it out, but the rest of the pose was quite another puzzle. I played quite a lot with the idea of having a “podium” again, but it was only when I figured that I’d break symmetry with the tail that I decided to go ahead.
The side view will let you understand how that paper strip really is divided: starting off from the head, go down to the feet, wind down and up through the podium and up to tip of the tail.
