This is the piece that I aimed for as I folded my recent “Niemand” bust. It is not only a natural continuation of my own work, but draws inspiration from several sources.
One such source was the picture of a sculpture that a friend sent me some months ago, which I quickly proceeded to sketch so as to find out what it was that made me so fond of it – yes, it’s the combination of her super thin limbs with her tiny frame.
Another is my love for Art Nouveau. While this specific version of Alice does capitalise that much on it, I cannot promise that a second version wouldn’t.
